iDevices & Supports for Executive Functioning

Many students struggle organizing themselves in school and in their lives. This can lead to difficulties in school and in other aspects of their lives. They may have difficulty with executive functioning skills and are falling behind in school. The iPad can become a valuable resource or tool to assist those students with areas in their lives where they are struggling.
This session will discuss device features that can be customized and individualized to meet the unique needs of our students. We will also discuss implementation strategies, device management and protecting the device. This session will also cover various apps such as alarms, scheduling apps, reminder apps, organizational apps, homework apps, note-taking apps, voice recognition apps, text-to-speech, etc… Participants in this session will come away with ideas and app suggestions that will assist those struggling students become more organized and successful in school and beyond.
