Solutions for Students with Low Incidence Disabilities

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

It can be challenging to find solutions for students who have significant developmental delays, significant motor developmental impairments or multiple disabilities. They can have sensory, motor, neurological, or medical issues that can make it difficult for them to access the iPad. It can also be difficult to find apps that are appropriate to meet their unique needs. This session will show how the iPad can empower our low incidence students. We will cover accessibility options, hardware solutions, configuring of devices, apps and more. We will explore alternate ways to access an iPad such as switches, pointers, mounting systems, etc. We will explore apps that can be used to support students with significant needs such as cause and effect, communication, literacy, entertainment and more. At the end of this session participants will have a good understanding on how the iPad can meet the needs of our students with significant needs.
